Still Standing - Workology
Still Standing Still Standing If you visit Blogging4Jobs frequently or follow me on Twitter, you may have say or read about what Ive dubbed Blogageddon. Last week I updated some software on my hosting site and lost 4 months of content as well as the custom template (you see here). This last week has been one of the hardest for me in my digital blogging life and after almost a week have come to grips with the fact that much of the blog posts, comments, and information is gone. (read more here) Still Standing I came to realize in the last few days how much I rely on my digital community, my blog, and other tools to not only function as a mostly virtual business but also engage my family and friends. Ryleigh, my two year old Skypes with her Daddy during the week who is on a project in Philadephia. I share photos with my sisters and family using Facebook and Flickr, and I use the power of blogging as my voice to move an industry into a new direction. As someone who is an advocate for social media, I also struggle with the balance that one must have in order to be successful most importantly as a mother, wife, and business person (in this order). So it may not have been a coincidence that last Monday, I dedicated myself to a 3 day a week yoga regiment which certainly came in handy during Blogageddon. I was able to center myself, stay focused and calm. Well, as calm as any one person can be in a situation like this. And yes, tears were shed. So over the course of the next several weeks, Ill be piecing my blog back together. My Backup WordPress Plugin also failed (not to mention the hosting restore) so I am relying on email subscribers to help me re-create my content and it is because of this that I will share with you backup tools and resources based on my own experiences. I want to thank you (my readers and community) for supporting Blogging4Jobs. Thank you for taking the time to read my articles and rants. It is because of you that I continue on this journey together. Thank you for being so supportive. Dont hesitate to tweet or email me directly if you have comments, suggestions, or just want to chat.
